Midjourney has four paid plans: Basic at $10 per month, Standard at $30, Pro at $60 and Mega at $120. Paying annually cuts those to $8, $24, $48 and $96 per month. There is no free trial listed. For most creators, Standard is the plan to buy, because it is the cheapest tier with unlimited Relax mode image generation.

This guide explains what each Midjourney plan includes as of September 2026, how fast GPU hours and Relax mode work, what video generation costs in GPU time, the commercial use rules, and which plan fits you.

Key takeaways

  • Basic ($10) gives 3.3 fast GPU hours (200 minutes) a month with no Relax mode, so you can run out quickly.
  • Standard ($30) adds unlimited Relax mode images, 15 fast hours and HD video, making it the best value for regular users.
  • Pro ($60) and Mega ($120) add Stealth mode, Relax mode SD video, and 30 or 60 fast hours.
  • Companies with more than $1M in annual revenue must use Pro or Mega for commercial use.
  • Annual billing saves 20% on every plan, for example $288 a year for Standard instead of $360.

Midjourney plans and prices compared

All four plans use the same models, including the current default image model V8.2, released on July 24, 2026. What changes between tiers is how much fast GPU time you get, whether you can use Relax mode, and whether your images can be kept private.

Plan Monthly Annual (per month) Fast GPU time Relax mode Stealth mode
Basic $10 $96/yr ($8) 3.3 hrs (200 min) No No
Standard $30 $288/yr ($24) 15 hrs Unlimited images No
Pro $60 $576/yr ($48) 30 hrs Unlimited images and SD video Yes
Mega $120 $1,152/yr ($96) 60 hrs Unlimited images and SD video Yes

You can verify these on Midjourney’s official plan comparison page. Midjourney bills in USD; we did not find official rupee pricing, so Indian buyers should expect card currency conversion and possible foreign transaction fees.

How Midjourney billing works: fast hours vs Relax mode

Midjourney does not charge per image. Instead, each plan gives you a monthly allowance of fast GPU time, which is how long Midjourney’s servers spend generating for you at full priority. Bigger, higher-quality or video jobs use more GPU time than simple image jobs.

  • Fast mode uses your monthly GPU hours. Jobs start right away.
  • Relax mode does not use fast hours. Jobs wait in a queue and can take longer, but they are unlimited on Standard, Pro and Mega.
  • Stealth mode keeps your images out of the public gallery. It is only on Pro and Mega.

This is why Basic feels much smaller than it looks. Once your 200 fast minutes are gone, Basic has no Relax mode to fall back on, so you wait for next month or buy more time. On Standard and above, you can keep generating images in Relax mode for as long as you like.

Tip: Use Relax mode for exploration and save fast hours for final renders or client deadlines. Our guide on how to use Midjourney settings and modes shows how to switch between them.

Midjourney Basic: $10 per month

Basic costs $10 per month or $96 per year ($8 per month). It includes 3.3 fast GPU hours (200 minutes) per month, SD video only and no Relax mode.

Who it is for: hobbyists who want to try Midjourney, and people who need a handful of images a month for blog headers or social posts. Who should skip it: anyone who iterates heavily on prompts. Getting a great image often takes many variations, and the fixed 200 minutes can disappear in a few sessions. Midjourney Standard: $30 per month, best for most people

Standard costs $30 per month or $288 per year ($24 per month). It includes 15 fast GPU hours, unlimited Relax mode images, and both SD and HD video.

Unlimited Relax mode is the reason to choose Standard. Designers, marketers and content creators can explore hundreds of prompt variations without watching a meter. Fifteen fast hours also covers urgent work.

Pros

  • Unlimited Relax mode image generation
  • HD video access
  • Big jump in fast hours over Basic (15 vs 3.3)

Cons

  • No Stealth mode, so your images appear in the public gallery
  • Relax mode video requires Pro or Mega
  • Not allowed for companies earning over $1M a year

Midjourney Pro and Mega: $60 and $120 per month

Pro plan

Pro costs $60 per month or $576 per year ($48 per month). It includes 30 fast GPU hours, unlimited Relax mode for images and SD video, and Stealth mode.

Mega plan

Mega costs $120 per month or $1,152 per year ($96 per month). It doubles Pro’s fast time to 60 hours and keeps Relax images, Relax SD video and Stealth mode.

Who needs Pro or Mega

  • Businesses over $1M revenue. Midjourney requires companies with more than $1M USD in annual revenue to use Pro or Mega.
  • Client work that must stay private. Stealth mode keeps unreleased brand work, product concepts and client images out of the public gallery.
  • Video creators. Relax mode SD video is only on Pro and Mega, so you can make video without burning fast hours.
  • Agencies with high volume. Mega’s 60 fast hours suit teams producing large batches on tight deadlines.

Watch out: Stealth mode is the most overlooked reason to upgrade. On Basic and Standard, your generations are visible in the public gallery. If you work under an NDA, budget for Pro from day one.

Midjourney video pricing: what it costs in GPU time

Every Midjourney plan can make video in Fast mode. Relax mode video (SD only) is limited to Pro and Mega. Clips can reach 21 seconds with extensions, and video is available on the website and in Discord. Full details are in the official Midjourney video documentation.

Midjourney says an HD batch of 4 videos uses about 26 GPU minutes. That lets you estimate how far your fast hours go:

Plan Fast minutes per month HD video batches (about 26 min each)
Standard 900 (15 hrs) About 34 batches
Pro 1,800 (30 hrs) About 69 batches
Mega 3,600 (60 hrs) About 138 batches

The arithmetic is simple: 15 hours x 60 = 900 minutes, and 900 / 26 is about 34. That assumes you spend all your fast time on HD video, with nothing left for images. Basic is not in the table because it only supports SD video. Commercial use, free trials and other fine print

  • Commercial terms: all paid plans come with Midjourney’s General Commercial Terms. Companies above $1M in annual revenue must be on Pro or Mega.
  • No free trial: the official plans page lists no free trial, so you need a paid plan to generate.
  • Models: V8.2 is the default (released July 24, 2026), following V8.1 in April 2026. Niji 7, the anime-focused model, arrived on January 9, 2026.
  • Currency: prices are in USD. Card conversion and taxes may add to the total outside the US.

How to save money on Midjourney

  1. Pay annually once you are sure. Every plan is 20% cheaper on annual billing. Standard falls from $360 to $288 a year, a $72 saving. Our guide to annual vs monthly AI plans explains when to commit.
  2. Skip Basic if you iterate a lot. Standard’s unlimited Relax mode is often cheaper than repeatedly running out of fast time on Basic.
  3. Use Relax mode by default. Switch to Fast only when you need results immediately.
  4. Write better prompts. Fewer rerolls means less GPU time. Structured prompts with clear style and parameters help most.
  5. Consider bundled tools for simple needs. If you only need occasional images, Google AI plans include image generation too; see our Gemini pricing guide.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a free version of Midjourney?

No. Midjourney’s official plans page does not list a free plan or free trial as of September 2026. The cheapest option is Basic at $10 per month, or $8 per month billed annually. If you want to try AI image generation for free first, several competitors and chat assistants offer free image generation with daily limits.

Which Midjourney plan is best?

Standard at $30 per month is the best plan for most people. It is the cheapest tier with unlimited Relax mode image generation, includes 15 fast GPU hours and supports HD video. Choose Pro instead if you need Stealth mode for private client work, or if your company earns more than $1M a year.

Is Midjourney worth it in 2026?

Midjourney is worth it if you create images regularly and care about artistic quality and style control. The V8.2 model is the current default, and Standard’s unlimited Relax mode makes heavy use affordable. If you only need a few simple images each month, a free tool or the image generator inside your existing AI assistant may be enough.

Can I use Midjourney images commercially?

Yes. All paid plans include Midjourney’s General Commercial Terms. However, companies with more than $1M USD in annual revenue must subscribe to Pro or Mega. Also remember that Basic and Standard images appear in the public gallery, so choose Pro or Mega with Stealth mode for confidential work.

How much does Midjourney cost in India?

Midjourney bills in USD, and we did not find official rupee pricing. Indian users pay $10, $30, $60 or $120 per month (or $8, $24, $48 and $96 on annual billing), converted by their card issuer. Expect foreign transaction fees and applicable taxes on top, so check your card statement after the first charge.

Our verdict on Midjourney pricing

Midjourney Standard at $30 per month, or $24 billed annually, is the best value for most creators thanks to unlimited Relax mode images and HD video. Basic is fine for light use but runs out fast with no Relax fallback. Pro is the right choice for private client work and businesses over $1M in revenue, and Mega suits agencies and heavy video users. Midjourney updates its plans and GPU allowances from time to time, so confirm current prices on the official Midjourney plans page before subscribing.
